WEBINAR WEDNESDAY: Do more with existing sensors – duplicating onboard control signals for new applications

The number of onboard systems requiring information from installed sensors continues to grow with initiatives such as CBTC, PTC, and ATO. Rather than treating each new application as a separate sensing problem, projects can explore ways to further leverage existing, and trusted, sensor architecture.  This is especially useful with speed data, as installing new hardware can prove to be especially challenging and costly.

In this webinar, we'll discuss how to achieve making control data available to new applications without the need for additional sensors or costly modifications to the bogie. Using a real-world approach with speed sensors as the basis for discussion, we'll cover functional safety considerations, integration strategies for both retrofit and new-build projects, and lessons learned that can help simplify implementation, while reducing certification effort and lifecycle maintenance.
