WEBINAR WEDNESDAY: Understanding CMREA, CENELEC and the Role of the Independent Safety Assessor

CSA standard R114:22 defines the requirements for risk evaluation and assessment for entities making technical, operational or organisational changes to Canadian railway systems. The standard derived from the European Union Commission Regulation No 402/2013 on the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-REA) provides a regulatory framework for the common approach to safety management when making changes to a railway system. This webinar will focus specifically on the role of the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) in the risk management process; what the value and benefits of independent assessment provide to a project at each phase of the project lifecycle, and how the roles of Assessment Body and ISA within the European rail industry compare. The presentation will also highlight case studies and examples of where the application of independent assessment has led to enhanced safety benefits.
