Job Description
MISSION/MAIN DUTIES
Serve as a liaison between Indigenous communities and project teams, integrating environmental considerations into railway projects and ensuring culturally appropriate engagement.
Facilitate consultations, workshops, and transparent communication regarding environmental impacts, respecting Indigenous protocols and perspectives.
Contribute to the development and implementation of environmental impact mitigation plans tailored to Indigenous contexts.
Inform and train engineering teams on incorporating Indigenous traditional knowledge and fostering respectful engagement.
Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare clear reports and recommendations, accurately reflecting the views and expectations of Indigenous communities.
PROFILE/SKILLS
Education : University degree (Bachelor’s) in Environment, Social Sciences, Indigenous Relations, Project Management, or a relevant field.
Years of experience : 5 to 10 years experience in a similar role.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Understanding of environmental and regulatory issues in the railway sector in Quebec.
Experience organizing public or community consultations.
Proficiency with office and document management software.
Basic knowledge of Indigenous law and community engagement policies.
Knowledge of an Indigenous language is an asset.
Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English.

Excellent intercultural communication skills.
Strong empathy and active listening ability.
Ability to negotiate and resolve problems collaboratively.
High ethical standards, diplomacy, and respect for confidentiality.
Aptitude for building and maintaining trust-based relationships with stakeholders.
